Kondapalli Musicians set

From the sun-drenched workshops of Kondapalli in Andhra Pradesh emerges this exquisite Musicians Set — a living testament to a craft tradition that has graced royal courts and sacred festivals for over four centuries. Each figure is hand-carved from the uniquely lightweight Tella Poniki wood, a timber so soft and yielding that it seems to surrender willingly to the artisan's chisel, allowing every curl of a dhol strap, every taut string of a veena, to emerge with breathtaking delicacy. The figures are then layered in tamarind seed paste and dressed in vibrant natural pigments — cadmium reds, peacock greens, and turmeric golds — colours that do not merely decorate but narrate, evoking the raga-filled courtyards of a Deccan evening.
